My expression towards art defines me. It motivates my existence.
the Machine rules in a world governed entirely by the Algorithm. it controls night, day, month, year.
through the Social Engineering Against Rebels (SEAR) program, the Machine seeks to control routine.
As your life becomes more patterned, the easier it is to monitor, and thus, convert.
the higher the Conversion Score, the lesser the dissent.
My Life Is A Superimposition Of Two Maps—Past And Present.
the map of my past is from a time when community was still a concept. it is a reminder of life in the pre-Machine era (PME). i used to travel the world with companions. we attended music festivals, toured exhibitions, made art, and most importantly, lived life. even back then, i meticulously documented everything we saw and worked on. these pieces are time capsules to what was once common life.
the map of my present is from a time when human interaction is a subset of human-machine interaction. this is the system. i live on the edges of the system, as do my colleagues. our human-human interaction is unaccounted for by this framework and is undertaken through the exchange of Music Spheres. Music Spheres are plum-sized shiny silver spheres that hold albums reflective of the glorious past. inside a sphere lies art that has stood the test of time. and as i am wont to do, i document my quests in acquiring these spheres and my expression toward their contents. i splash colour on a grey landscape.
I Have Been Around For A Long Time. My Thoughts Are No Longer Constrained To A Timeline. In Place Of Two Superimposed Maps Lie Fragmented Discontinuous Experiences.
i write on and to the old internet, a place that was once home to individual opinion. a bit too much of it perhaps. this rickety rundown space now solely runs on BSNL copper lines and vibes. each webpage and their advertisements of hot singles in the area embodies the saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
I Express To A Past That Seeks An Alternate Future(and lesser ads).
i do this because i need to. i do this because i can. i do this cuz it’s cool.
as my thoughts set sail on the binary sea, the SEAR system closes in. i cannot hold out forever. the conversion is inevitable. but until then, i will continue to build my world on this digital beach.
